A kashmiri sweet dish eaten specially in winters and marriages.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Cashew nuts..1/2 cup
  2. Big raisins..(munakka)1/2 cup
  3. Almonds...1/2 cup
  4. Pistachios....1/2 cup
  5. Walnuts.....1/2 cup
  6. Paneer cut in small cubes..1/2 cup
  7. Dry figs..3/4 in no.s
  8. Dry dates...1/2 cup
  9. Dry coconut powder..1/2 cup
  10. Sugar...2 cups
  11. Cardamom powder..1/2 sp
  12. Black pepper powder...1/2 sp
  13. Cinamon(dalchini powder.)..1/2 sp
  14. Dry ginger powder...1/2 sp
  15. Dry rose petals..2 tbsp
  16. Jaiphal powder...1/2 sp
  17. Ghee...1/2 cup
  18. Saffron...2 pinch.

Instructions

  1. Soak Cashew nuts,almonds,pistachios,big raisins and walnuts in enough water for 30 minutes.
  2. Soak dry figs and Dry dates in another bowl.
  3. Cut figs and dates into small pieces and remove the seeds from dates.
  4. Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan.
  5. Fry coconut powder until color changes to light brown.
  6. Take out in another plate.
  7. Drain out water from nuts.
  8. Now fry paneer in the same ghee until color changes to light brown.
  9. Now add all nuts,black pepper powder,dry ginger powder,cardamom powder,cinnamon powder,rose petals,and sugar along with kesar strands.
  10. Add jaiphal powder.
  11. Now cook until sugar dissolves.
  12. Shufta is ready to eat.
