Bottle goard has high nutritional benefits too, still i dont know why it is not enjoyed by kids. Bottle gourd is rich in vitamin c,magnesium and iron content.Its good for people suffering from high blood pressure,constipation,urinary infections and for those people who want to reduce their weight.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2.5 cups wheat flour.
  2. 1.5 cups of grated bottle guard (dont throw away the seeds grind them into fine paste)
  3. 1 tsp garlic finely chopped.
  4. 1 tsp green chili finely chopped.
  5. 1/2 cup soaked split green gram/moong dal
  6. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves.
  7. 1/2 tsp carom seeds.
  8. 1 tsp freshly ground garam masala.
  9. A pinch of turmeric powder.
  10. 1 tbsp butter and oil
  11. Salt to taste.

Instructions

  1. First grind moong dal/split green gram along with garlic and green chili.
  2. Then In a vessel add in flour ,grated bottle gourd ,paste of seeds of the bottle gourd,moong dal chili garlic paste(refer notes)salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and coriander leaves.
  3. Make a dough out of it with little oil.Theres no need to add water as theres enough water content in the bottle guard.
  4. The dough should be neither too hard nor too soft. Cover and keep the dough aside and let it rest for some time.
  5. After an hour pinch the dough in small balls and roll it out into small paranthas. Cook the dough in hot griddle till its nice and crisp.
  6. Serve with a dash of butter.
