Healthy biryani full of vegetables

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/2 kg basmati rice
  2. I cup roughly chopped Cauliflower
  3. 1 cup chopped potatoes
  4. 1 cup soaked soya granules
  5. 5-6 chopped green chillies
  6. 1 cup peas
  7. 1 cup carrots
  8. Biryani masala
  9. Chilly powder
  10. Handful of raisins and cashews fried
  11. Chopped coriander leaves
  12. salt as per taste
  13. 1 spoon chopped Ginger
  14. Water.

Instructions

  1. Take the biryani masala add two cups of water in it and with help of spoon mix it properly and keep aside.
  2. Take a deep bottom pan pour oil in it then add chopped Ginger saute it then add onions saute it till golden brown then add cauliflower, green chillies, potatoes, peas and carrots.
  3. Now add the biryani mix. And add salt chilly powder and cover the lid for 5-10 minutes on low flame.
  4. In another deep bottom pan add soaked rice, and salt in boiling water. Water is just double then rice.
  5. Cook the rice and Drain out the water extra water
  6. Now take a pressure cooker pour a spoon ghee, cumin seeds, bay leaf and spread a layer of rice.
  7. Then a layer of vegetables and repeat the process
  8. add another layer of rice
  9. Then spread coriander leaves and fried dry fruits
  10. Then a layer of rice dry fruits
  11. Cover the lid take out the whistle. And cook it for 5 minutes on low flame.
  12. Open the lid mix it with light hands.
  13. Serve

Good but biryani is never veg ... This is a pulao

I followed exactly same instructions as you mentioned above. Specially your picture helps me a lot to make it easier. I used SUHANA veg biryani masala instead of the pictured veg biryani masala. Also I add paneer (fried it first) and soya chunks (fried). But I was confused at one place that 1)when we layered it in pressure cooker with rice, should i add a little water??? 2)do i add the pinch of salt in rice while boiling or add differently somewhere in between cooking?? Kindly help with above 2 questions. Overall.... The biryani was really so tasty. I never been think that the "dum" was so easy. Thank you once again. And thank you betterbutter.
