Traditional sweet pongal, delicious and easy to prepare
This pongal looks lovely!
Dry roast moong dal dark brown. Add it to the measured rice
Wash the rice and dal together
Now put It in a cooker
Add the milk to it
Cover and cook for 5 whistles
Keep it for few mins reducing the gas.
Now put off the gas and keep aside
Take a pan and add the ghee and cashews
Stir till nicely roasted
Keep aside
Open the lid of the cooker and mash the cooked rice and dal with the backside of a ladle
Add the cardamom powder and sugar
Now add the roasted nuts along with the ghee
Mix well.
Ready to serve
