Mix the ingredients for making chapati.
Slowly add required amount of water to form a soft dough

Take a pressure cooker and place it on gas.
Now wash the rice and add the water as mentioned in the list above and place it in the pressure cooker..
Wash the dal and add water to it and place that too in the cooker at the same time
Pressure cook until whistle
While the dal is cooking, make roti
Make 6 medium sized balls out of the dough.
Place the tava/pan on the gas
Now with help of rolling pin roll the dough to form a chapati of about 5 inches
Now place the rolled chapati on the pan and cook it from both the sides.
Apply ghee if you want (optional )
For the dal makhani
Wait for the cooker to release the pressure.
It takes 10 min to cool down
Cut the onion, tomatoes, fresh coriander and keep it ready
Place a kadhai on the gas stove
Add oil to it
Add mustard seeds and jeera (cumin) seeds let it splutter
Add hing (asafoetida)
Add onion fry till golden brown
Add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes stir it
Add curry leaves
Now add turmeric and chilli powder.
Saute every thing
Now add in the cooked dal
Stir in to mix well
Add salt to taste and Garam masala
Add water to it according to your desired consistency
Let it boil
Turn off the gas and add the freshly chopped coriander.
Now pack your Chapati Rice and dal makhani in the tiffin carrier and all set to go.
