ABOUT Colourful Baked Potli Samosa RECIPE

A healthy version of popular samosa , used only little oil

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Ingredients for white dough :
  2. All purpose flour 1 cup
  3. Semolina 2 tsp
  4. Oil 2 tsp
  5. Warm water
  6. Salt 1/2 tsp
  7. Baking Powder a pinch
  8. carrom seeds 1/2 seeds
  9. for green colour dough :
  10. 1/2 cup spinach puree + all the ingredients same as above and no water
  11. for red colour dough :
  12. all the ingredients same as above + juice of 1 beetroot , nowater
  13. Ingredients for stuffing :
  14. Boiled potatoes 2
  15. blanched green peas 1 cup
  16. lemon juice 1 tsp or aamchoor powder
  17. whole cumin seeds 1 /2 tsp
  18. 1 chopped onion
  19. ginger minced 1 /2 inch
  20. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  21. coriander powder 1 tsp
  22. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  23. chilli powder 1 tsp
  24. Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  25. salt as per taste
  26. coconut scrapped 3 tsp
  27. Kasuri methi 1 tsp
  28. some raisins or cashew nuts also you can add
  29. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Make dough , not very hard or very soft .
  2. Keep aside the dough for 20 mins
  3. In the meantime make the stuffing
  4. Heat oil , crackle cumin seeds , add onions , fry until translucent
  5. Now add ginger saute for 2_3 mins
  6. Add turmeric powder and salt
  7. Add cumin powder and coriander powder
  8. Add chilli powder
  9. Saute for 3 mins
  10. Add boiled smashed potatoes
  11. Also add green peas and coconut
  12. Also add cashews or raisins
  13. Add kasuri methi , saute for 4_5 mins
  14. Add garam masala and lemon juice
  15. Now make small balls out of the dough
  16. Roll them into small puris
  17. Add stuffing 1 tsp in each
  18. Now give them potli shape
  19. Cut thin strips with knife from one puri
  20. Put knots on all the potli samosas
  21. Now preheat the oven to 200 degree centigrade for 10 mins
  22. Put the samosas to the oven for 15 mins in 250 degrees centigrade
  23. And your healthy and taste Samosas are ready to serve with chutney
