ABOUT Khasta Besan Kachoris RECIPE

Flaky little beauties loved by my family and these are made at every other day for a tea-party. These flaky goodies are best enjoyed with khajoor imli teekhi meethi chutney or peanut chutney. Deep fried and totally a bliss. Enjoy them with your family and friends and celebrate the togetherness and family reunions and strengthen your familial ties. Happy Family Reunion !!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. All purpose flour 2 cups
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Oil or ghee 2 tbsp
  4. Milk 1 cup or as needed
  5. For the filling: Gram flour or besan 1 cup
  6. Asafoetida 1/4 Tsp
  7. Salt 1 tsp
  8. Coriander seeds crushed 1 tsp
  9. Fennel seeds crushed 1 tsp
  10. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  11. Chilli flakes or red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  12. turmeric a pinch
  13. Lemon juice 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil, add the Cumin seeds and Asafoetida followed by the Gram Flour or Besan.
  2. Roast until it gives a nice aroma on a low heat.
  3. Add all the other spices and mix well.
  4. Make small puris and fill them up as shown in the images.
  5. Make a small ball like shape and either roll up again into a little wider circle or press down with the hand and seal them up nicely.
  6. Deep fry in hot oil.
  7. Serve hot.
