ABOUT Eggless Zebra Cake RECIPE

Zebra cake is a combination of vanilla and chocolate cakes and the pattern is achieved by pouring the batters in a pan alternately.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. All purpose flour( Maida)- 1 cup
  2. Semolina- 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar powder- 1 cup
  4. Baking soda- 1 pinch
  5. Baking powder- 2 tsp
  6. Milk powder- 1 cup
  7. Cooking oil- 1 cup
  8. Vanilla essence - few drops
  9. Cocoa powder- 2 tbsp
  10. Milk- 1 cup (or more)

Instructions

  1. Butter an 8 inch cake tin.
  2. Preheat the oven at 175 degrees celsius.
  3. Sift together the flour, milk powder, powdered sugar, baking powder, semolina and baking soda. Mix together the milk, essence and oil.
  4. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients in 2 batches. Divide the batter equally in 2 bowls.
  5. Sift the cocoa powder in one of the bowls and mix it well.
  6. Spoon two tablespoons of the plain mixture into the center of the cake tin. Straight away spoon two tablespoons of the chocolate mixture on top. Continue doing this until all the mixture has been used. (You will end up with lots of alternate rings of mixture in the tin.)
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake on a wire rack and serve it with chocolate sauce.
