Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 and 1/2 cup tuwar daal
  2. 2 tomatoes chopped
  3. 1 onion diced
  4. 1 tsp amchur powder
  5. 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
  6. 5-6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  7. Handful of finely chopped beans
  8. 2 tbsp finely chopped cauliflowers
  9. 2 tbsp finely chopped cabbage
  10. 2 tbsp finely chopped lady finger
  11. Small piece of jaggery
  12. 1 tbsp bottle gourd
  13. 1 tbsp capsicum
  14. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  15. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  16. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  17. 3 cups of water
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Oil or butter as required

Instructions

  1. Finely chop all the vegetables and wash it nicely.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, add the daal including all the vegetables, then add water in it. Let 2 whistles blow, then lower the flame and simmer to cook for 2-3 mins.
  3. Heat butter in a pan to prepare the tadka, add the cumin seeds with a pinch of asafoetida, 1 chopped garlic and 1 onion. Saute and add the amchur powder and jaggery for taste, pour this tadka into the daal.
  4. Serve it with rice and roti.
