A special pan is used to make this and it's called as paniyaram chatti or paniyaram tawa or appe pan. Simple, crispy, soft paniyaram recipe makes for a nice breakfast dish. Do give it a try!
Mix together semolina, rice flour, baking soda and sour yogurt.
Add water littile by littile to make a thick batter. Set aside to rest for 10 minutes .
After 10 minutes, add Greenchilli, onion, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well. Keep aside.
Heat a paniyaram tawa, drizzle 1/4 tspn oil into each cavity and spread with a brush.
Pour batter into the cavities, filling 3/4 each cavity.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove lid and when the underside turns golden, turn to the other side with a wooden skewer.
Cover and cook golden and crisp on both sides. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
