ABOUT Beetroot Kuzhi Paniyaram RECIPE

This is a perfect less oil snack to have along with tea and to give for kids . If we keep the batter ready then this can be made in a jiffy.Adding beetroot is absolutely healthy and adds attractive colour and taste too .Kids will love the colour and taste.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raw rice -1 cup
  2. Parboiled rice -1 cup
  3. Methi seeds- 1 tablespoon
  4. Urad dhal-1/2 cup
  5. Channa dal-1 tablespoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Beetroot grated 1 cup
  8. Onion 1
  9. Ginger -1 peice
  10. Green chilli-3
  11. Oil for paniyaram
  12. Mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
  13. Urad dal -1 teaspoon
  14. Hing -1/2 teaspoon
  15. Curry leaves few

Instructions

  1. Wash rice and dal well, add fenugreek seeds and soak them for 4 hours. Now drain and add it to a grinder or blender and grind until smooth along with salt.
  2. Leave to ferment for atleast 6 hours to 8 hours . Then refrigerate and use it when needed
  3. Grate beetroot and ginger.chop onion and green chilli finely
  4. Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal , asefotida,curry leaves and once they splutter add onion,green chilli and ginger and Saute for few minutes.
  5. Add grated beetroot and saute for few minutes
  6. Switch off the flame and add this to the batter and mix well
  7. In a kuzhi paniyaram kadai add little oil and pour ladelful of batter in each hole .cook for few minutes
  8. Flip over and cook
  9. Serve hot
