Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. tiger prawns-1/2kg
  2. onion sliced-3
  3. whole garam masala- cardamom-2,cloves-2, cinnamon stick-1,bayleaf-1
  4. dried kashmiri red chilli-4
  5. onion paste-1tbsp
  6. curd-1/2cup
  7. crushedgingergarlic-2tbsp
  8. redchilli powder-1tbsp
  9. cumin powder-2tsp
  10. fennel and coriander powder-2tsp
  11. garam nasala-1tsp
  12. kasuri methi-1tsp crushed
  13. oil
  14. water
  15. salt

Instructions

  1. first marinate the prawn by adding gingergarlic paste,salt,onion pasre,curd,red chilli powder,cumin powdr,garam masala, fennel and coriander powder
  2. let it sit for about 10mins
  3. in a heavybottomed kadai add oil
  4. once the oil turns smoke add whole garam masalas and dried red chilli
  5. next add the sliced onion salt and sugar so that the onion gets caramalized
  6. when the onion turns brown add the marinated prawns and cook for about 20-25 mins by adding little water each time
  7. scrap from the bottom each time so that the recipe gets nice brown color
  8. add the crushed methi leaf
  9. for smoke burn the coal for fewmins and the place it in snall bowl above the masala and pour the oil immediately close the masala with lid
  10. let the smoke rest for 2mins
  11. garnsih with coriander leaves ginger julienes
  12. can be best served with chapati
