Jeera rice with arhar/tuvar dal.

Put daal and 4 cup water in a pressure cooker.
Add salt and turmeric powder.
Wait for 3 whistles.
Take a wok. Add ghee, as it gets warm add in cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Add chopped onions and green chilli. As its color changes, add in the chopped tomatoes.
Cook for a minute. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute for a few minutes. Finally add some amchoor powder.
Add this tadka into the dal and mix it. Sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves.
For the Jeera rice:
Wash the rice and soak in water for 10 - 15 minutes.
In a pressure cooker add ghee and cumin seeds (Jeera). Add rice and the double water.
And pressure cook it for 2 whistles.
Serve hot dal chawal with salad, chutney, pickle and raita.
