ABOUT Sabudana khichadi RECIPE

one of the very favourite recipe during fasting but it is an all time demanded dish in my family as is very yummy, fulfilling and with a cup of hot adrak tea it tastes just marvellous.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. overnight soaked sabudana 2 cups
  2. Tomato medium sized 1
  3. Green chilli 1
  4. roasted peanuts 2 teaspoons
  5. cumin seeds 1/ 2 teaspoon
  6. mustard seeds 1/ 2 teaspoon
  7. fresh curry leaves 8- 10
  8. Salt to taste
  9. oil / desi ghee 2 tablespoon
  10. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Rinse well and soak the sabudana overnight. while soaking the water level should be just above the sabudana level. once soaked drain out the excess water if any.
  2. in a non stick kadhai add refined oil or ghee, when hot add in cumin seeds, mustard seeds( skip if making for fasts), fresh curry leaves and let crackle.
  3. add in chopped green chilli, roasted peanuts and tomatoes. fry the tomatoes till they are cooked and leave the oil.
  4. add sabudana and salt and give a stir to mix everything nicely.
  5. keep it bhunoing by stirring in between so that the raw texture of the sabudana goes off.
  6. keep on stirring in between and do the bhunoing for about 5 - 6 minutes.
  7. once done add the chopped coriander leaves and serve it with a fried green chilli( for green chilli lovers) and a cup of hot adrak tea and enjoy your relishing sabudana khichdi.
