ABOUT Murabba (Raw Mango) RECIPE

Raw Mango Murabba is a popular Maharashtrian side dish which tastes awesome, little sour, spicy, sweet, salty with amazing flavors of masalas and unique taste of raw Mango. Goes well with chapati, roti.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw mangoes grated – ½ cup (5-6 tbsp) (Preferably Totapuri)
  2. Sugar – 3-4 tbsp
  3. Green Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp
  4. Kesar Strands – 8-9 (Optional)
  5. Salt a small pinch
  6. For Tempering -  Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp
  7. Coarsely ground black pepper – ½ tsp
  8. Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
  9. Oil – 1 ½ tsp 

Instructions

  1. In a Nonstick pan take grated raw mango. Add sugar, kesar strands and cook for 4-5 minutes until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens.
  2. Add cardamom powder and salt mix well.
  3. In sauce pan or tadka pan, heat oil. Add ground black pepper, cumin powder and red chili powder..
  4. Pour this tadka over a prepared Mango Murabba. Stir well. Murraba is ready
