ABOUT Nankhatai-traditional indian cookies RECIPE

These crumbly, melt in mouth cookies were made in indian homes even when ovens didnot existed. Traditionally made with maida,ghee,sugar and elaichi powder. Now there are many variations done with different flours and sugars.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida 1 cup
  2. Besan 1/2 cup
  3. Sooji 2+1/2 tbsp
  4. Sugar Powder 1/2 cup
  5. ghee 1/2 cup
  6. Elaichi powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Chopped nuts to garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together and keep aside.
  2. Cream ghee and Sugar together until light in color
  3. Add dry mix and combine with light hands.
  4. Do not mix vigorously.
  5. Keep in fridge for 10 mins.
  6. Preheat oven at 180 for 10 mins.
  7. Make small ball and garnish with silvered nuts
  8. Bake in preheat oven until light brown.
  9. Cool and Store in airtight box
