ABOUT TRADITIONAL ITALIAN BREAKFAST COOKIES RECIPE

Traditional light Italian breakfast cookies are fast to bake and have it with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Italian breakfast cookies are crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour 21/4 cup
  2. sugar powder 3/4 cup
  3. Egg 1(room temperature)
  4. vegetable oil 1/4 cup
  5. Milk 1/4 cup
  6. Baking powder 2 teaspoon
  7. Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Sugar coarsely powdered 3 tablespoon
  9. Salt 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Sift all purpose flour, salt and baking powder together and keep it aside.
  2. Whisk egg in an electric beater till frothy.
  3. Add powdered sugar to it and mix well.
  4. Add oil, milk and vanilla essence to the egg mixture.
  5. Whisk well till it's well combined.
  6. No more electric beater is needed.
  7. Add sifted flour to egg mixture little by little and fold in with a spatula.
  8. Mix well and then add next batch.
  9. Transfer the mixed dough to the floured surface. Gently knead the dough.
  10. Doug may be sticky. Do not over flour..
  11. Roll the dough into long rope shape.
  12. Cut into oblong shape.
  13. Roll the pieces on to powdered sugar.
  14. Preheat oven to 180 degree centigrade. Arrange in a baking tray.
  15. Bake it for 10 minutes.
  16. Italian breakfast cookies are ready with a cup of coffee. Perfect healthy breakfast with all nutrients are packed with this crunchy top and soft inside cookies.
