Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 250 gms Kadalai parupu( Bengal gram)
  2. 1tbsp raw rice
  3. 1" ginger piece
  4. 2tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  5. 2tbsp chopped mint leaves
  6. 2 GREEN CHILLI CHOPPED
  7. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  8. 1 tesp fennel seeds
  9. 1/2" cinamom stick
  10. 1/4 tesp baking soda
  11. 1/4 tesp asafodita
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Few curry leaves chopped
  14. Oil to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Soak dal and rice for two hours.
  2. Drain and transfer to a mixer jar
  3. Add salt,baking soda,chilli,chopped ginger,fennel seeds and cinamom
  4. Grind coarsely without adding water
  5. Transfer to a bowl,add chopped onions,coriander,mint and curry leaf. Mix well
  6. Place a pan on medium heat ,add oil
  7. Take a small lime size batter,make a ball,flatten gently,Pat the edges to smothen,and slip it into the oil.
  8. Cook on both sides till golden brown
  9. Place on paper towel to remove the excess oil
  10. Kadalai vadai is ready,serve hot with white chutney
