ABOUT Soya Manchurian Dry RECIPE

An Indo - Chinese starter made with soya nuggets.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup soya chunks
  2. 3 tbs cornflour
  3. 1 tbs maida
  4. 3 tbs chopped garlic
  5. 1/ 4 cup onion ( sliced )
  6. 1/4 cup sliced carrot ( optional)
  7. 1/4 cup sliced capsicum ( optional)
  8. 2 tbs soya sauce
  9. 2 tbs red chilli sauce
  10. 1 tsp sugar
  11. 1 ts chilly flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil the soya chunks in hot water for 5 minutes. Drain and keep aside for half an hour.
  2. Add cornflour, salt, maida, 1 tsp soya sauce and one 1 tsp red chilli sauce to the soya chunks and mix well.
  3. Deep fry the chunks in hot oil on high flame for 2 -3 minutes till they turn light brown and crisp on the outside. Drain and keep aside.
  4. In another pan heat 2 tbs oil and add the chopped garlic. Saute till it gives a nice aroma.
  5. Add the onions, carrots and capsicum and saute till onions turn a little soft.
  6. Add the soya sauce, red chilli sauce and sugar and mix well.
  7. Check if additional salt is required and add salt if required.
  8. Add the fried soya chunks and mix well till the gravy coats all the chunks. Switch off the flame.
  9. Serve immediately garnidhed with chopped corriander or chopped spring onion greens.
