Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/4 cup Moong dal
  2. 1 tbsp channa dal
  3. 1/4 cup Jaggery
  4. 1 cup thick coconut milk
  5. FOR GARNISH
  6. ghee
  7. Chopped coconut
  8. Cashews and Raisins
  9. cardamon powder

Instructions

  1. ADD 1 CUP WATER IN A KADAI. ADD 1/4 CUP JAGGERY. PREPARE JAGGERY SYRUP. FILTER AND SET ASIDE
  2. ADD 1 TBSP CHANNA DAL IN A PRESSURE COOKER
  3. ADD 1/4 CUP MOONG DAL. ROAST TILL YOU GET GOOD AROMA
  4. RINSE THEM AND ADD 2 CUPS OF WATER. PRESSURE COOK FOR 3 WHISTLES
  5. ALLOW PRESSURE TO RELEASE NATURALLY. MASH THEM
  6. NOW BOIL THE MIXTURE
  7. ADD FILTERED JAGGERY SYRUP
  8. MIX CONSTANTLY TO AVOID DAL STICKING TO BOTTOM
  9. WHEN PAYASAM STARTS BOILING ADD 1 CUP THICK COCONUT MILK. BOIL FOR 2 MINUTES AND TURN OFF THE FLAME
  10. FRY COCONUT PIECES IN GHEE TILL ITS COLOUR CHANGES TO LITE BROWN
  11. ADD CARDAMON POWDER, ROASTED COCONUT, CASHEWS AND RAISINS
  12. SERVE HOT
