ABOUT Gurer Payesh ( Jaggery Payasam) RECIPE

Well when it comes to sweet , nothing soothing me more than a spoon full of Payesh, it's reminds me of my childhood when my mom prepared on my every occasion so whenever I feel homesick and craving for payesh I solace myself with a bowl full of Payesh.. we can make it either with sugar or gur.( jaggery) , here I am sharing the recipe of Gurer payesh ( jaggery payesham)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gobindo Bhog rice ( jeera rice) -100 gm
  2. Milk -1 ltr
  3. Jaggery -200gm
  4. cardamom-5-6
  5. Bay leaf -1
  6. Dry fruits for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice for 30mins its will reduce the time of cooking .In a large pan boil the litre of milk in a low flame until it boiled with kinder bubble. Now add the soaked rice in milk and slowly cook , slowly means literally slowwwly...
  2. U can add the cardamom and bay leaves so that te aroma mixed in the process.
  3. Meanwhile you can add the dry fruits also and again slowly cook , the entire process takes nearly an hour to blend in perfection.
  4. When it is almost done the rice fully mixed with the milk and gives it a greasy texture it's tym to add the Gur. Note: before adding the Gur first try a pinch to taste it sourness with lil amount of milk on it. Sometimes the Gur is sour and destroy all your efforts.
  5. So add the Gur and blend it perfectly .you can smell the aroma that fills ur heart and soul with pure bliss.
