ABOUT Veg Upma RECIPE

Upma is a very fomous south indian breakfast ...but it also popular in all over india coz of its quick and easy process of making although its a healthy option too for having in breakfast , its  ideal for kids and all age groups.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cup semolina/rawa
  2. 3 tbsp oil
  3. 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  4. 1 red chili
  5. 1 tbsp urad dal/ broken black gram
  6. 5-10 curry leaves
  7. 1 large size onion finely chopped
  8. 1 green chili finely chopped
  9. 5-6 french beans finely chopped
  10. 2-3 tbsp cabbage finely chopped
  11. 3-4 tbsp green peas
  12. 1 tsp sugar
  13. 1 cup milk
  14. 2-3 cup water
  15. Salt as per taste
  16. 1 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. ADD 2 CUPS RAWA TO PAN
  2. DRY ROAST RAWA OVER MEDIUM HEAT FOR 2-3 MINUTES. KEEP IT ASIDE
  3. HEAT 3 TBSP OIL IN A PAN
  4. SPLUTTER MUSTARD SEEDS ,ADD 1 TBSP URAD DAL, SAUTE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
  5. ADD 1 BROKEN RED CHILI ,CURRY LEAVES
  6. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONIONS, 1 TSP FINELY CHOPPED GINGER AND COOK TILL ONIONS ARE TRANSLUCENT
  7. ADD 3 -4 TBSP GREEN PEAS AND 2-3 TBSP FINELY CHOPPED BEANS
  8. ADD 2-3 TBSP CHOPPED CABBAGE AND SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES
  9. COVER AND COOK FOR ANOTHER 1-2 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME
  10. ADD 1 TSP SUGAR
  11. NOW ADD ROASTED RAWA
  12. SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES
  13. ADD 2 CUPS WATER ,1 CUP MILK ON LOW FLAME
  14. KEEP ON STIRRING FOR 2 MINUTES , THERE SHOULD BE NO LUMPS
  15. ADD SALT AND MIX PROPERLY
  16. COVER AND COOK FOR 3-4 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME UNTIL IT THICKENS
  17. REMOVE THE LID, STIR WELL AND ADD 1 TBSP GHEE
  18. MIX WELL AND SWITCH OFF THE GAS
  19. SERVE HOT
