there are many memories with parsi mawa cake,from childhood this was my favorite cake as in school during Christmas we used to get this cake along with choclates and Christmas gifts,and after growing also I love the taste of this cake,this is proper irani cake which we can serve with tea coffee and best part is here mawa is prepared at home,my kids too love this cake,friends do try this cake its really yum

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1&1/2 cup all purpose flour
  2. 100 gms butter
  3. 1 tsp of baking powder
  4. 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  5. 1&1/4 cup of powder sugar
  6. 1/2 cup of thick curd
  7. 3/4 cup of milk
  8. 1tsp of cardmom powder
  9. ingredients for mawa
  10. 1tsp of butter
  11. 1/2 cup of milk
  12. 1/2 cup of milk powder

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tsp of butter in a non stick pan
  2. Add 1/2 cup of milk
  3. Stir till butter melts
  4. Add 1/2 cup of milk powder to milk and butter
  5. Keep on stirring till everything incorporates well
  6. It should be lump free
  7. Still their is little time to turn into mawa
  8. It will leave the sides of pan Now mawa is ready
  9. Add 100 gms of butter to a bowl
  10. Add 1 &1/4 cup of powder sugar to butter
  11. Whisk it till it turns creamy and becomes light in color
  12. You can make out the Colour has changed
  13. Keep a seive on bowl
  14. Add 1&1/2 cup of all purpose flour to seive
  15. Seive flour
  16. Add 1 tsp of baking powder and 1/2 tsp of baking soda to seive
  17. Seive all the ingredients
  18. Mix everything with help of spatula
  19. Add 1/2 cup of thick curd and 3/4 cup of milk
  20. Again mix the batter
  21. Add grated mawa/khoya
  22. Give a good mix
  23. Add 1 tsp of cardmom powder
  24. Grease a tin in which you are suppose to bake Mawa Cake
  25. Sprinkle some all purpose flour tap the pan and remove extra flour out of the pan
  26. Line the tin with parchment paper
  27. Add batter to tin
  28. Sprinkle some chopped almond and cashewnut above the batter
  29. Keep for baking in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes on 160 degrees
  30. Insert a tooth pick if it comes out clean our cake is baked
  31. After cooling it completely for 2hrs demould it and remove parchment paper
  32. Cut into slices
  33. You can see the texture its ready to serve
