ABOUT Flowery Chicken Dumplings RECIPE

Zero oil, steamed chicken dumplings coated with rice that look like blooming flowers. These are also known as Rice momos / Chicken Porcupine

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 500 grams chicken fine mince
  2. 5 spring onions, finely chopped
  3. 1 medium carrot, grated
  4. 1 cup basmati rice, soaked for 30 minutes
  5. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  7. 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  8. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  9. 1/2 teaspoon salt or as per taste
  10. 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  11. Cabbage leaves for steaming

Instructions

  1. TAKE 500 GMS CHICKEN MINCE, ADD 5 CHOPPED SPRING ONIONS & 1 PEELED & GRATED CARROT
  2. ADD 1 TBSP GINGER-GARLIC PASTE
  3. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF RED CHILLI & PEPPER POWDERS, SALT TO TASTE
  4. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF GARAM MASALA POWDER & DARK SOY SAUCE, MIX WELL
  5. SHAPE SMALL BALLS OUT OF THE READY MIX
  6. ROLL THE READY CHICKEN BALLS IN BASMATI RICE SO THAT THEY GET EVENLY COATED
  7. FLOWERY DUMPLINGS ARE READY TO BE STEAMED
  8. HEAT 2 CUPS WATER IN A STEAMER, PLACE CABBAGE LEAVES ON THE STEAMING PLATE
  9. PLACE THE RICE COATED DUMPLINGS ON TOP, COVER & STEAM FOR 15-20 MINS
  10. SEE HOW THE RICE BLOOMS & GIVES A BEAUTIFUL FLOWERY EFFECT
