This recipe is from my granny's kitchen & i love this because Green gram is healthy, high source of protein,fibre & antioxidants.one of the major cooking rule is to cook food on low flame.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup whole Green gram
  2. 1 large onion
  3. 1 large Tomato
  4. 20 curry leaves
  5. 1" Ginger
  6. 15 cloves garlic
  7. 2 tbsp Corrinder
  8. 1 tsp Termeric
  9. 3 tsp chilli powder
  10. 2 tsp salt
  11. 3 tbsp oil
  12. 1 tsp Garam masala
  13. 6 cups water

Instructions

  1. IN PRESSURE COOKER ADD 1 CUP WHOLE GREEN GRAM,5 CUPS WATER,1/2 TSP TERMERIC,1 TSP SALT.
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP OIL.
  3. CLOSE THE PRESSURE COOKER ON SIMMERED FLAME & COOK FOR 30 MINS.
  4. CORRINDER, GARLIC, GINGER,CURRY LEAVES.MAKE FINE PASTE.
  5. MASH IT .
  6. KEEP IT ASIDE.
  7. CHOP FINELY
  8. IN A KADAI ,HEAT OIL .
  9. ADD PASTE,FRY WEL.
  10. ADD TOMATO COOK TILL SOFTEN.
  11. ADD ONION COOK TILL SOFTEN.
  12. ADD TERMERIC,SALT, CHILLI POWDER GARAM MASALA.
  13. MIX WEL .COOK TILL STRONG SMELL GOES OFF.
  14. ADD MASHED DAL& STIR WEL.
  15. ADD 1/2 CUP WATER.COOK FOR ANOTHER 5 MINS.
  16. GARNISH WITH CHOPPED CORRINDER.SERVE WITH STEAMED RICE,PAPAD,SALAD .
