ABOUT Bhapa Doi Baked/Steamed Yogurt RECIPE

This is a famous Bengali dessert served chilled after meals. In this dessert, curd is either baked or steamed to achieve a delectable dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Hung curd 1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Milk 1 cup
  3. Condensed milk 1 can
  4. Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  5. Pistachios 4 tbsp
  6. Handful of raisins

Instructions

  1. In a blender add the hung curd or greek yogurt and condensed milk, blend till it forms a smooth consistency. Next add the milk, cardamom powder and blend till you get frothy like bubbles.
  2. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius for 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the blended yogurt into oven proof bowls.
  4. Take a big oven proof baking tray, fill it with water and half immerse the yogurt bowls in it. Note to arrange the yogurt bowls in this water filled baking tray carefully.
  5. Place this baking tray in the oven at 180 degrees celsius for 45 minutes.
  6. After 45 minutes check with a toothpick if it is done than take out the baking tray carefully.
  7. Take out the baked/ steamed yogurt bowls and let them cool down.
  8. After it's cooled refrigerate the baked yogurt bowls for 2 hours.
  9. At the time of serving garnish with dry fruits and fresh fruits of your choice to enjoy this delectable dessert after meals.
