Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup black urad dhal
  2. 1/2 cup raw rice
  3. 1 cup palm jaggery
  4. 1/4 cup sesame oil
  5. 2 tsp ghee
  6. 5 or 6 cashew nuts /badam
  7. Salt 1 pinch
  8. Cardamom powder 1 pinch(optional)

Instructions

  1. First in a heavy bottom pan fry black urad dhal and then raw rice separately. Till Colorado changes slightly..
  2. Allow it to cool.. in another pan put palm jaggery and add some water to melt the jaggery. Once the jaggery is melted fully,filter the jaggery water..
  3. Grind the rice and urad dhal in mixie and make it fine powder..
  4. Add some more water along with the jaggery water place it in stove ..add cardamom powder. once the water starts to boil add the urad dhal powder in it
  5. Stir continuously till the jaggery and dhal powder mix well and comes At the end as non sticky..add sesame oil in this stage and mix well
  6. Roast the cashew / badam in ghee and mix it along with the kali.. now tasty and healthy karuppu ulundhu kali is ready to serve...
