Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup rice
  2. 1/2 Cup moong dal
  3. 8 cashews
  4. 1 inch ginger grated
  5. 1 sprig curry leaves
  6. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  7. Pinch of hing
  8. 1/2 tbspn peppercorns
  9. 3 tbpsn ghee

Instructions

  1. Dry roast dal. Pressure cook rice and dal for 2 whistles by adding 2 cups water
  2. Once pressure released, add salt and mash it up to little creamy consistency
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. Fry cashews, drain and set aside
  4. Add cumin and peppercorns. Allow them to splutter. Then add ginger, hing, curry leaves.
  5. Pour this to pongal. Mix and serve hot with sambar or chutney
