Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida - 1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Refined oil - 2 tbsp
  3. 1/4th tsp baking powder
  4. Water to bind it
  5. For the Syrup:
  6. Sugar- slightly less than 1 cup
  7. Water 1/4th cup
  8. 1/4 tsp elachi powder or any essence like kevda, rose water

Instructions

  1. To the maida, add baking powder and mix well. Then add oil so you get a crumbled texture.
  2. Add small amount of water to knead dough that is not very hard. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
  3. Then divide the dough in 5 balls. Roll down each to a thin roti shape.
  4. Roll each roti from one side with fingers to form a cylindrical shape. Then press it with a rolling pin and cut it into small pieces. Fry them in low flame till it gets light brown but not dark. Fry all of them.
  5. To make the syrup, take sugar and the water essence together. Continue stirring till it turns to a one thread consistency.
  6. Then turn off the stove and add all the fried paras to it and keep mixing. Within minutes the sugar syrup will turn to powder and get coated on the paras.
  7. Take it out in plate, cool them and store in an airtight container.
