This is a very tasty punjabi dish . Blend of few spices stuffed in karela and then deep frying it makes it irresistible .
Perfect one.
Wash and peel the karelas
Slit them from the centre
Now remove all its seeds if there are any . The ones i had bought were very tender and fresh without any hard seeds .
Wash the karelas thoroughly and keep them in a colander till the water drains .
In a bowl add salt, turmeric , Saunf powder, Amchur powder , garam masala powder , and red chilly powder and mix them well .
Fill all the karela and onions with this mixture .
In a kadahi heat mustard oil .
Put the karela in it carefully , cover with a lid and cook .
Once it becomes soft turn the flame on high and let them turn dark brown in colour .
Remove the karelas in a serving dish.
Now in the same oil add the onions . Cover them and cook for a few minutes .
Put the flame off and transfer the onions into a serving dish .
Serve with chapatis . Goes great with moong ki dhuli daal and any raita .
