ABOUT Marwadi Chana Masala Curry RECIPE

Creamy, delicious ,little sour and spicy chana masala curry which i made in Marwadi style. It goes well with roti, paratha, puri and rice. I learned from mom as a token of love.....thank you mom.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boiled black chana 1 bowl
  2. Sour curd 200 gram
  3. Besan 1 tbs
  4. Chopped onions 2
  5. Green chilli 2
  6. Garlic 7 - 8
  7. Ginger 1 piece
  8. Dry red chilli 2
  9. Dry coriander seeds 1 tbs
  10. Black pepper 5
  11. Cloves 2
  12. Curry leaves 5 to 6
  13. Oil 2 + 1 tbsp
  14. Ghee 1 tbsp
  15. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  16. Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  17. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  18. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  19. Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  20. Salt to taste
  21. Fresh coriander leaves 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take some warm water in bowl and drop red chilli for 5 minutes.
  2. Grind onion, garlic, green chilli, ginger, cloves, black pepper, soaked dry red chilli, curry leaves and coriander seeds in pestle.
  3. Add approx 1 tbsp oil in-between grinding masala.
  4. Heat kadai add oil and ghee for simmer.
  5. Add cumin seeds for tempering add asafoetida and turmeric powder.
  6. Add grounded masala paste and sauté till it start to leave oil.
  7. In a bowl add curd, besan, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt then blend it.
  8. Now pour curd mixture in kadai and mix well.
  9. Add boiled black chana and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or bring it to boil.
  10. When curry become little thick add coriander leaves, turn off from flame and serve hot.
