ABOUT Mayonnaise Dabeli Burger RECIPE

Dabeli is a popular Gujarati snack also known as an Indian burger. I have westernised this Indian burger with the help of Dr. Oetker's Tandoori mayonnaise.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Burger buns 4
  2. Dr.Oetket's Tandoori mayonnaise 2 tablespoon
  3. Potato 2
  4. Onion 1
  5. Groundnuts 1 fistful
  6. Pomegranate 1 fistful
  7. Dates 10
  8. Tamarind 1 inch
  9. Redchilli powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Jeera powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Jaggery grated 2 tablespoon
  12. Redchillies 10
  13. Garlic 10 pods
  14. Salt accordingly
  15. Oil 50 ml
  16. Butter 50 gms
  17. Black salt 1/4tsp
  18. Chaat masala 1/4 tsp
  19. Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  20. Coriander leaves a fistful
  21. Grated coconut 1 tablespoon
  22. Any bhujia 50 gms

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes and mash them well
  2. Chop onion to fine pieces
  3. Roast peanuts with little oil and cool in a bowl
  4. In a kadai add little oil and fry the onions and mashed potatoes
  5. Add the masala powders - chilly powder ,chaat masala, black salt, turmeric powder, jeera powder and salt as required.
  6. Mix well and cool. Add the ground nuts, pomegranate, grated coconut, coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. In a blender add dates , red chilli powder, tamarind, jeera powder, jaggery, little water and blend well
  8. Boil this in a kadai for few minutes
  9. Blend the red chillies,garlic, salt and saute with little oil and keep aside.
  10. Collect all the ingredients ready to be stuffed
  11. Cut the bun horizontally and apply garlic chutney on a side and dates chutney on the other
  12. Keep the potato stuffing inside.
  13. Apply mayonnaise on the filling and close it
  14. Roast on a tawa with little butter
  15. Roast till golden on both sides
  16. Garnish the sides with the bhujia and serve hot
