ABOUT Jowar Bhakris served with Matkichi Usal !! RECIPE
A very famous dish from Maharashtra..... This is made with mothbean sprouts....and is very healthy....Actually there are many ways to make this... and my family loves it... This is my way of making it....a very easy peezy recipe :relaxed:

Ingredients Serving: 4
Matki/Mothbeans sprouts - 250 gms ( soaked overnight & then later made into sprouts )
Onions - 3 Big cut small
Potato - 1 big peeled & diced into cubes
Tomato - 2 big chopped small
Ginger & Garlic -1 tbspn finely chopped or paste can be used
Jeera - 1 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Dry red chilly - 2 broken into halves
Turmeric pwdr - half tspn
Red chilly pwdr - 1 tspn ( adjust to taste )
Hing- 1 / 4 tspn
Oil - 1 tbspn
Ghee - 1 to 2 tspn
Dhaniya pwdr - 1 tspn ( optional )
Goda masala - 1 tspn
Green chillies - 1 to 2 slit into half
Coriander leaves for garnish
Salt to taste
For serving :-
Nylon sev - 1 / 2 cup
Chopped onion and tomatoes and coriander leaves
Lemon juice - a few drops ( optional )

For the Jowar Bhakri
Jowar flour - 2 cups
Hot water to knead about 1 glass (adjust accordingly )
Salt to taste
Little oil
Chopped onion, tomatoes and coriander leaves - little ( optional )
Instructions
Take a pressure cooker and heat it add the cubed potatoes and matki sprouts....Put little salt & turmeric pwdr and cook for a few mins ( one whistle )
Then in a kadai put oil & when hot add jeera & the broken dry red chilly...After it splutters put hing & the chopped onions & saute well
Add the slit green chilly, curry leaves & chopped ginger and garlic.Saute well till the raw smell goes away.
Add salt & the dry masalas. Later add the chopped tomatoes and cook till soft.
When done put the pressure cooked matki sprouts & Aloo.
Pour water and bring to boil...Check salt and spices...
Let it cook for a few minutes.... When it is cooked properly turn off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves.
Squeeze lemon juice if you want
Ready to be served
While serving as per taste put the sev, finely chopped onions and tomatoes & garnish with coriander leaves again.... Enjoy hot with buttered pav, bread, roti or bhakris.

For the Jowar Bhakris....
Take a big vessel and add the Jowar flour and salt....Mix well
Here I have added little chopped onion ,tomatoes and coriander leaves....
Now take hot water add little by little and mix with the help of a spoon..... It will form a crumbly texture.
When it is a bit cool....knead with hand and keep aside for half an hour...
Later put little oil and knead again.
It will look like this
Then take a zip lock cover & grease it with little oil....Take a ball and put on the cover....gently press with the fingers or with the rolling pin.... and make a round bhakri.
In the meantime take a non stick tawa....heat it....when hot put the bhakri carefully on the tawa....
Cook it from both sides....Sprinkle little water.....Cover it with lid and cook till done....
You can drizzle oil if you like.... or make it without oil and before serving apply ghee....
Enjoy with hot curry of your choice
