a very healthy recipe as the banana stem is very good for hyper tension as well as high pressure,whereas the chana is a very healthy food for everybody.It helps inconstipation problem also.This recipe is cooked with very less oil and minimum spices.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. banana stem 500 gms( finely chopped)
  2. chana 100 gms (soaked)
  3. potatoes 2 cut into cubes
  4. ginger paste 2 tspn
  5. cumin paste 2 tspn
  6. garam masala paste 1 tspn
  7. for tempering-
  8. Cumin 1/2 tspn
  9. Bay leaves 2
  10. Cinnamon stick 1"
  11. Cardamom 2
  12. Cloves 2
  13. Dry Red Chillies 2
  14. Mustard oil 2 tblspn
  15. ghee 1 tspn

Instructions

  1. soaked the chopped banana stem in salted water for overnight
  2. in morning,strain the water, mashed a with ur hand,and put in the pressure cooker with 150 ml water.Put the soaked chana in a steel bowl and keep on the top of banana stem.
  3. keep 3/4 min after first whistle in low flame,switch off the flame. set aside and wait till it opens at it's own
  4. now take a pan,heat mustard oil,add the tempering ingredients. wait till the aroma comes out
  5. pour the potatoes, sprikle the salt over it,fry them
  6. add all the masala paste,stir.
  7. splash some water in the masala fry
  8. add boiled banana stem,cooked with the masala
  9. add salt & little jaggery
  10. splash some water again,add boiled chana, cover & cook for 4 min in low flame
  11. keep out the cover, mix all the things from bottom to top, scraping out from the sides,
  12. switch off flame,add garam masala paste, ghee
  13. cover it for few min for incorporate the aroma of garam masala into the curry
  14. serve with rice or roti
