ABOUT Poha Kichadi RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Poha (Preferably Hand Pound Poha) 3 cups
  2. Moong dal 1 cup
  3. Pepper 1 and 1/2 spoons
  4. Cumin Seeds 1 tea spoons
  5. Green Chillies Slitted 2
  6. Curry leaves and cashews few
  7. Hing powder 1/4 tea spoon
  8. Finely chopped ginger 1/2 tea spoon
  9. Ghee 3 table spoons
  10. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a Pan with 1 tea spoon of ghee and roast moong dhal till nice aroma comes.
  2. Pour in 3 cups of water and add a pinch of turmeric powder. Wait till the dal is well boiled
  3. Now wash the Poha and add it to the pan.Mix well. Add salt and one more cup of water. Keep the flame medium and close the pan with a lid.
  4. After 10 minutes open the lid, stir well. In a sauteing pan heat remaining ghee and add pepper, cumin, curry leaves, hing, cashews, green chillies, ginger and stir till the cashews turn brown.
  5. Add them to the pan with poha and dal mix. Mix well and serve hot.
