ABOUT Gobhi aloo matar RECIPE

A winter delicacy with the fresh cauliflower and peas .

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 300 gm cauliflower
  2. 3 medium potatoes
  3. 1/2 cup peas
  4. 1 medium onion
  5. 2 tbsp chopped green garlic
  6. 1 inch ginger piece
  7. 1 medium tomato
  8. 2 green chillies
  9. 2 tbsp mustard oil
  10. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  11. punch asafoetida
  12. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1 tsp coriander powder
  14. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  15. salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Chop onions, potatoes and cauliflower and keep aside.
  2. In a wok, take mustard oil and heat it well.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  4. Add asafoetida and then add chopped onions and green garlic.
  5. Sauté till translucent and then add grated ginger.
  6. Sauté for a min and then add potatoes, cauliflower and peas.
  7. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
  8. Sauté well for 3-5 mins on medium flame.
  9. Then cover with lid and cook for another 5 mins till the veggies are softer.
  10. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.
  11. Add coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
  12. Cover and cook for 3-4 mins till tomatoes are soft.
  13. Serve hot with your favourite rice or roti.
