Simple everyday sabzi with richness of dry masala

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 Potatoes
  2. 1 cup matar
  3. 1 Onion
  4. 1 tomato
  5. 2-3 cloves of garlic
  6. Small piece of ginger
  7. 1 green chilli
  8. Pinch of Asafoetida
  9. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  10. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  11. 1/2 tsp degi/ Kashmiri mirch
  12. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  14. Pinch of Kasuri methi

Instructions

  1. Grind tomatoes, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Keep aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and add some oil in it. Let it become hot.
  3. Add cumin seeds, hing and as the color changes add sliced onions.
  4. As the onions turns pink add the ground masala, cook till the oil separates from the sides.
  5. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Stir and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add in chopped potatoes and matar. Saute it in the pressure cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala and kasuri methi on top.
  8. Serve hot with hot chapatis.
