ABOUT Rava Fish Fry... RECIPE

A simple and healthy fish fry that tastes delicious with simple rice and daal. Semolina or rava is a good option to use for frying because it makes it more crispier. Maintain a steady temperature while frying and do it on medium to high heat only. Otherwise it will tend to absorb much oil. And do not leave it unattended. You need to stop your multi tasking for a while when frying these. Happy Frying !!!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Fresh Fish 1 1/2 kg
  2. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  3. Salt 1 tbsp
  4. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  5. Green chilli paste 1 tbsp
  6. Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  7. Turmeric 1 tsp
  8. Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  10. Rava or semolina to coat the fish pieces 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Clean the fish and make deep slits all over.
  2. Marination is an important step.
  3. Add all the ingredients to a wide bowl and mix well.
  4. Cover and keep aside for an hour atleast.
  5. I usually keep it overnight for juicy and succulent fried fish.
  6. Add some salt and chilli powder to rava.
  7. Coat the fish pieces with this dry mix and deep fry.
  8. Fry in batches until golden and crispy.
  9. Serve with raw onion slices, rice and dal tadka.
