It is a very healthy breakfast dish from GujaratNow dhoklas are famous world wide.They are very soft and spongy..They tastes good with coriander and sweet chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dhuli Moong Daal 500gms
  2. Rice 35 gms
  3. Dhuli Urad 15 gms
  4. Green peas 250 gms
  5. green chillies 3
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Red chilly powder1/2 tsp
  8. Small bunch of coriander leaves
  9. Lemon juice1/2 tsp
  10. hing pinch
  11. Eno 1tsp
  12. For tempering
  13. Oil 2 tsp
  14. Mustard seed1tsp
  15. Curry leaves 4-5
  16. Red chilly cut into pieces 1

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal and rice separately overnightGrind it and make a batter.Ferment it
  2. soak moong dal in the morning and grind
  3. Mix salt in both batters.Semi crush par boiled peas and chilly.Make chutney with coriander,lemon juice,salt and hing.Mix 2tsp green chutney in peas mixture.
  4. Boil water in Kadhai and grease the plate
  5. First put Eno in moong dal layer and steam for 5minutes. Now put green peas cum chutney layer and steam for another 5 minutes .put eno in White Dhokla batter and spread on top of green layer.Steam for 15 minutes.
  6. For tempering heat oil,put mustard seeds,curry leaves and red chillies.pour this over Dhoklas.Garnish with coriander leaves.
