ABOUT Adai Dosa/Mixed Lentil Dosa... RECIPE

Adai is a healthy take on a normal fermented dosa from the South Indian States in India. This crispy ,lacy, super lentil dosas are not only healthy but quite filling too. My version is an all green one with curry and coriander leaves added with green chillies. Tastes heavenly and just a bite will make you ask for more and more.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Raw rice 1 cup
  2. Bengal gram 1/4th cup
  3. Whole green gram 1/4th cup
  4. Yellow dal or moong dal 1/4th cup
  5. Pigeon pea lentils or toor dal 1/4th cup
  6. Salt 1 tsp
  7. Ginger mince 1 tbsp
  8. curry leaves 10
  9. Coriander leaves 1/4th cup
  10. green chillies 3
  11. Onion chopped 1
  12. Oil 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak all the lentils and rice for about 4 hours.
  2. Grind them all to a flowing consistency batter just like that of a regular dosa.
  3. Leave it aside for an hour.
  4. Heat a heavy iron griddle.
  5. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto it.
  6. Spread uniformly and smear it with oil on top.
  7. Also drizzle oil on the sides too.
  8. Make all in the same way.
  9. Crispy and healthy super dosas are ready for breakfast in no time.
  10. There is no need to ferment this batter.
  11. But it is highly recommended by me to keep it aside for an hour or two.
  12. After 2 hours, make your dosas in the regular fashion as we do for a normal fermented one.
  13. Serve them hot with onion tomato chutney.
