ABOUT Poha (Kandepohe) RECIPE

Poha or Kandepohe(in marathi) is a traditional Maharashtrian breakfast recepie.Its typicaly serve with Chai.Poha is a ultimate option when suddenely any guest comes at home for short time and we don't have much time for cooking.Its healthy option for kids too.This is my mother's recipie as it have her secret ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Onion 1 large size
  2. Potato 1 medium size
  3. Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
  5. Sugar 1tsp
  6. Salt 2tsp
  7. Poha soaked in water and strained 10 min before
  8. Lemon 1tsp
  9. Curry leaves
  10. Coriander
  11. Oil 3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take oil in a pan on medium flame.
  2. Add cumin, mustard seeds & curry leaves.
  3. Add onion,green chillies.Fry it until onion turns transperent.Dont overcook onions.
  4. Add potattos and some salt.Cover a pan and let potattos cook for 3-4 min
  5. Add sugar and lemon juice in this mixture and stirr it.
  6. Add Poha and some salt, mix well,cover for a while.
  7. Check poha by mixing if done put flame off.
  8. Serve it with coriander and coconut powder.
  9. Enjoy Kandepohe with Chai(tea)
