ABOUT Vazhakkai fish fry RECIPE

This is mock fish, that is a fish fry made with plantains, a perfect side dish to be served with some dal rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Plantain 2
  2. Small onion 4
  3. Ginger small piece
  4. Cumin seed 1 spoon
  5. Garlic 4 Cloves
  6. Fennel seed 1 spoon
  7. Pepper corn half spoon
  8. Red chilli powder half spoon
  9. Coriander powder half alf spoon
  10. curry leaves
  11. Coriander leaves to garnish
  12. Lemmon juice half spoon
  13. Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Cut Plantain to oval shape
  2. Boil in idli cooker for 10 mins
  3. Apply the ground masala prepared with the following to the boiled vazhakkai oval peices: Onion 4 Garlic 4 cloves Ginger small piece Cumin seed 1 spoon , Fennel 1 spoon pepper half spoon , red chilli powder half spoon , coriander powder half spoon
  4. Add 2 spoons of Bengal gram flour
  5. Add few drops of lemon and sea salt
  6. Allow the masala coated vazhakkai to marinate for 30 minutes
  7. Place dosa Kadai
  8. Add sufficient amount of oil to fry vazhakkai
  9. Fry each side
  10. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leavez

Can I use regular salt as sea salt is not good for health?
