ABOUT Microwave Sprouted Chana Chaat... RECIPE

Chana chaat is already a hit and if it is made with sprouts, then it becomes a smash hit. Isn't it friends? Well !!! This is exactly what happened to it. It almost disappeared in flat 10 minutes of time at a tea party for just womenfolk of my building. It tastes so delish. Tangy , spicy and perfect for a kitty party too. Enjoy this super awesome chaat in this lovely weather at tea-time. And the best part is that it is made in a microwave in practically no time at all. Both elderly and the pregnant ladies can enjoy this healthy snack full of protiens.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 to 3 cups black chickpeas or kala chana sprouts
  2. 2 tbsp Chana masala
  3. 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 2 onions finely chopped
  6. 2 cucumbers finely chopped
  7. 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  8. 1 1/2 tbsp chaat masala
  9. 3 tbsp lemon juice
  10. 3 green chillies chopped
  11. 3 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  12. 1/8 th tsp asafoetida
  13. 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Soak them overnight and then wrap them up in a wet cloth and place them on the kitchen counter for about 2 to 3 days. Sprouts are ready.
  2. Make sure the cloth is wet. Sprinkle some water if it dries up.
  3. Heat oil in a microwave safe bowl along with the asafoetida.
  4. Add the sprouts to it along with the spices excluding the veggies and the chaat masala. The sprouts does not take much time to cook since they are already well soaked and done.
  5. Mix well. Cover and allow it to cook for about 3 minutes on HIGH. After 3 minutes, remove and stir once and then microwave again for about 2 more mins.
  6. After done, add in the veggies. Give it all a good mix.
  7. Sprinkle chaat masala on top and squeeze some lemon juice.
  8. Adjust salt according to taste. Serve this chana chaat hot and enjoy with family and friends.
