Indian Style Chilli Chicken with a twist

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For marinating Chicken-
  2. Chicken 800 gram
  3. 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  4. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  5. Thick Curd 2 tablespoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Other ingredients-
  8. Capsicum 2 numbers cut into small cubes
  9. Kholrabi(in hindi ganth gobhi) 2 numbers cut into thin small cubes
  10. Onion 1 big size sliced
  11. 2 tbsp crushed black pepper corns
  12. Green chillies 4-5 numbers chopped or as per taste
  13. Ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  14. Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  16. Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon
  17. juice of 1 lemon
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Oil 4 tablespoon
  20. Chopped coriander leaves handful

Instructions

  1. Rinse chicken 2-3 times under tap water. Rest on a sieve to drain the excess water.
  2. Pat the chicken dry. Add all marination ingredients and mix hand nicely. Keep aside for 20 mins for marination.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds. When they start spluttering, add the sliced onions and chopped chillies.
  4. Sauté for a while. Add the marinated chicken.
  5. Fry for 3-4 minutes on high flame. Add all spices and fry for a minute.
  6. Cover and let cook for 6-8 minutes on low flame. In between open the lid and stir using a spatula. Cover and cook for 10 more mins. Keep checking and stirring so that it does not stick to the bottom of the kadhai.
  7. Add capsicum cube and cook on medium flame without covering the lid for 3-4 minutes stir in between.
  8. Adjust the salt. Add the garam masala,chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix.
  9. Cook for a Minute and switch off the flame.
  10. Serve as a snack or a side dish with parantha or Naan.
