ABOUT FRIED MOMOS WITH A TWIST (PAPAD MOMOS ) RECIPE

This recipe is quite interesting with a twist of momo base. It's purely my own try and was challenging to plait momo frills. I also used green sprouts with chicken. Healthy recipe and will be loved by all.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For momo base
  2. 10 papads
  3. Oil for frying
  4. For stuffing
  5. Boneless chicken 100 gms
  6. Green Sprout 50gms
  7. Onion 1
  8. Ginger garlic paste 1/2teaspoon
  9. Sambhar powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Fennel seed 1/2teaspoon
  11. Pepper powder 1/2teaspoon
  12. Oil 2teaspoon
  13. Turmeric powder 1/4teaspoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. For sealing
  16. 1 teaspoon maida with little water.

Instructions

  1. Soak green lentils overnight.
  2. Next day drain and let it sprout.
  3. Grind green sprouts in a mixer.
  4. Mince chicken in a mixer
  5. Add oil in a wok and heat in a medium flame.
  6. Add fennel seed to it
  7. Add onion and fry translucent.
  8. Add ginger garlic paste and let the raw smell disappear.
  9. Add chicken and ground green sprouts with tumeric and sambhar powder.
  10. Add salt to taste.
  11. Fry the mixture till it dry. Keep it aside to cool. Stuffing is ready.
  12. Momo making
  13. Soak papad in cold water for five minutes.
  14. Remove from water and dab well with kitchen towel to absorb water
  15. Place stuffing in the middle.
  16. Apply maida paste around soaked papad
  17. Sprinkle pepper above
  18. Pleat papad well.
  19. Pleat other papad and keep it ready for frying.
  20. Heat oil in medium flame and fry one by one.
  21. Fry till golden brown.
  22. Fry all the papad momo's crisp.
