ABOUT Fenugreek utappam RECIPE

Fenugreek seeds are bitter in taste but has amazing health benefits.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urid dal- 1 cup
  2. Raw rice-2 cups
  3. Fenugreek seeds-1tbsp
  4. Salt- as per our taste
  5. Chilli powder- little
  6. Turmeric- a pinch
  7. Coriander powder- a pinch
  8. Onion- 1( finely chopped)
  9. Green chillies- 2 ( finely chopped)
  10. Cumin seeds-1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak urid dal, rice, fenu greek seeds for 6 hours and then grind it to a smooth paste and leave it overnight to ferment.
  2. Next day morning, add onions, chillies, salt, chilli powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander powder and mix well.
  3. In a non stick pan, add little oil.
  4. When oil is hot, add 2 laddles of batter ( dont move with laddle).it should be thick.
  5. Cover with a glass lid.
  6. Once the edges are golden brown colour, flip to other side.
  7. Serve hot
