ABOUT Aloo Peas masala(South Indian style) RECIPE

It is simple kids friendly aloo recipe. Nobody will say no to this recipe. It is the served in south indian marriages particularly iyer. This is my family's favourite recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Potato 6 medium size
  2. Onion sliced 2
  3. Green Chilli 1 (optional)
  4. Peas handful
  5. curry leaves
  6. Coriander leaves
  7. Turmeric
  8. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  9. Salt
  10. For seasoning oil
  11. Mustard
  12. Split Urad dal

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook 6 medium sized Potato cut in to cubes
  2. Heat Oil. Add Mustard. When it cracks Add Urad dal.
  3. When the colour of Urad dal changes to golden brown. Add sliced onion and one Green chilli( optional). Saute
  4. Add fresh Green Peas (handful), curry and Coriander leaves. Saute
  5. Add Salt, Turmeric and Red chilli powder.
  6. Mix well. Cook masala for 3 mins
  7. Completely strain water from boiled potatoes. Add to masala. Gently toss potatoes with masala
  8. Serve with Variety rice
