Moong dal with palak is very healthy recipe. It's not only makes the dal interesting but increase it nutritional value.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup moong dal
  2. 1 bunch palak leaves
  3. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1 Pinch of hing
  7. 1 dry red chili
  8. 1 medium sized onion , chopped
  9. 7-8 curry leaves
  10. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  11. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  12. 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
  13. 1 tsp aamchur powder
  14. Water as required
  15. Salt as per taste
  16. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  17. 3 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and finely chop spinach leaves. Add moong dal, spinach leaves to Pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  3. Now,add pinch of hing,curry leaves and dry red chili and mix well.
  4. Add chopped onions and saute until onions are translucent
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw aroma disappears
  6. Now,add coriander powder,salt , red chili powder and mix well.
  7. Add cooked dal,spinach and 1/2 cup water. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Add amchur powder and garam masala. Mix well. Simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Moong palak dal is ready to serve!It goes good with rice or chapati
