ABOUT Matar Dhokla RECIPE

Its a beautiful and healthy variant of dhokla.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup fresh green peas
  2. 1 cup sooji
  3. 1 cup curd
  4. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tsp green chili paste
  6. 1/4 tsp baking soda
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For tempering
  9. 2 tsp ghee
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 tsp grated ginger
  12. 3-4 sprigs of curry leaves
  13. 1/4 cup boiled green peas (optional)
  14. Salt to taste
  15. 2 tbsp grated Cheese to garnish

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook the green peas for 2 whistles. Strain and blend to smooth paste
  2. In a bowl, mix the puree with sooji and curd. Cover and keep mixture aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Add in ginger-garlic - chili paste, salt and baking soda. Mix well.Add more curd if the mixture is too thick.
  4. Pour batter in the greased mold. Steam in microwave for approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Check with a knife if it's done or continue for a minute more.
  6. Rest dhokla for 10 minutes.
  7. Demould and cut into pieces.
  8. Heat ghee in a pan, splutter mustard seeds.
  9. Add in grated ginger and curry leaves. Cook for 1-2 minutes.Add peas and salt. Mix well
  10. Pour the seasoning over Dhoklas
  11. Garnish with cheese. Serve warm
