Pressure cook dals until very soft and mushy
Add enough water to the vegetables in a pan. Add salt, turmeric powder and sambar powder. Mix well. Cook until veggies are tender
Heat oil, add urad and channa dal, fry till slightly golden
Add pepper, cumin and roast until aromatic
Remove from heat and add grated coconut. Mix well
Cool and grind mixture to a smooth paste.
Add ground paste with the boiled dals to cooked veggies and mix well.
Check for seasoning and bring to boil
Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
Add urad dal and roast till golden. Add curry leaves and mix well
Pour the tadka over the poricha koottu
Serve hot over steamed rice topped with ghee.
